Dermot Power started his career in comics which explains his detailed style and expressive, yet selective, use of colour in his work. He has created creature and character designs as well as environment designs for a range of movies.
Power is a concept and film production artist, who has worked for a range of movies, such as, Ready Player One, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Star Wars Episode 7, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, etc. His work is mainly made in adobe but his style has influenced me to try different styles of concept art, in water colour, in black ink, etc.
His concept work shows that you can convey all the important details through the suggestion of line and colour as opposed to making a very detailed sketch. Which, in the long run saves time as this means you can create more sketches and try to get it right without having to worry about the smallest things.
I tried to incorporate this in my sketches, and found it made it easier to do whole body concept drawings, in this style.

Adam Brockbank also works in the film industry as a concept and storyboard artist. However, in contrast to Dermot Powers, Brockbank's work is detailed, clear, and contains a lot more information about the surroundings, as opposed to just suggestions. His work is also a lot crisper than Brockbanks.
I researched into the artists specifically because they worked on the Harry Potter franchise at one point or another in their careers. This research helped with the context of my piece and enabled me to see the variety of sketches and concept art that went into creating that magical world.
