A Fantastic Beast Week 9

This week I have finished up with my bibliography in terms of converting links and books into the appropriate fromat. Because I had saved them as links as I was working, they have all save as having been opened on the 16th of April when it is not the case. I have accessed these links back in Ferbruary and March, and possibly over the Easter break.

I have also further researched into how creature concept artists present their work and found that a majority of them us z-brush or sketchup. However, I lack this skill so I'm just going to stick with concept sketches on paper with paint and/or coloured pencils.

On Monday, I asked karen if she had any thoughts on the creature and its display and she said she liked it, but what if I had a black base instead of a white one? Because it might make the colours pop. So she suggested I go take some photos with it. I did and found that I prefered it with a black base. So on wednesday I will paint the base black.

I went to the Harry Potter Studios on Friday for research as well as leisure purposes. I went to see how they displayed the 'beasts' in their exhibition as this is where my end user will see and interact with it.

I found that they just put the creatures on the stands without really having a base. This could be because the creatures were used in the movie. Some, like the hypogriff, did have a stained wooden base. Going through the studio, I noticed that quite a few of the creatures were showcased in glass cases.
