Struggled to find the right kind of tube for the other half of my piece. But did manage in the end. I have ordered it and hopefully will arrive during this week. I ended up ordering a metre of acrylic tube, which should be the right size. But I won't know until it gets here. I will probably also stuggle to bring it in on the bus. However, it's not blue so no contrast.

Options: Cover in blue tissue paper + LED on the inside OR just see with the blue LED but is very weak. What else can I try? Dye it blue? with ink?|

Made test pieces but take forever to dry. So couldn't paint them for a day.

Gonna see if sanding it makes a difference and by that I mean makes it smoother. Will then see if a layer of pva below a layer of acrylic will change anything.

Simon recommended dunking it in a thin mixture of plaster to get that smooth texture that sort of looks like plastice, and then sand off any rough bits. Sounds like a good idea. Will attempt this when I come in on friday. When the arm thing will have hopefully dried out by then.

Notes:

Draft statment of intent by assessment (Wed 6th Feb) so that effective research can begin asap, E.g. during International trip to Budapest.
